Our approach is fully holistic — traditional Kerala Ayurveda, yoga and meditation working alongside modern allopathic medicine, psychology and counselling for every age. We do not promote medication unless it is truly necessary — every guest receives a tailor-made plan from our specialists, built around what they actually need to recover, and nothing more.

Raised within his father's recovery centres and shaped by an international career spanning India, Qatar and the United Kingdom — across hospitality, healthcare management and entrepreneurship — Sooraj founded The Shore from his own life’s journey — an independent vision where world-class standards meet the healing traditions of Kerala.
Having overcome his own battle with addiction, Dr. Johns founded Punarjjany in 2004 on these very hills of Poomala — a medication-free, holistic sanctuary that transformed more than 1.5 lakh lives. His compassion, discipline and belief in second chances light every corner of The Shore. This is his legacy, carried forward by his son, Sooraj Johns Mangalam.
